The sandy surfing beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock lie close by and, across the estuary, the Elizabethan mansion of Prideaux Place and attractive fishing port of Padstow (famously the setting for Rick Stein's restaurants) can be reached by foot ferry and car or by bicycle along the Camel Trail from Wadebridge (10 miles).
